Jatropha Podagrica is also known as the Buddhas Belly plant. It is a perennial caudex with spiny stems and large, leathery leaves. In the summer the plant will produce clusters of orange flowers.
- Keep in a bright position out of direct sunlight. It can be grown outside in the summer in a sheltered position.
- The bulb stores water so it doesn't require a lot of water - treat it like a succulent, allowing the soil to dry out between each watering.
- The plant will go dormant in winter so it may lose its leaves, stop watering during this time until spring. Keep in temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius.
- The soil should be a well draining mix.
- Considered toxic so keep out of reach of pets and children.
