Carnivorous plants are sensitive to chemicals in tap water and can seriously harm your plants. We also stock a product that neutralises the chlorine and chloramine from tap water if you are unable to collect rain water. - The jars must always have 1/3 of water else they will dry out and die back. The liquid is essential for them to be able to catch insects. - Unlike Venus flytraps you can feed this plant insects, especially if your plant is somewhere it cannot catch its own food then you can feed the pitchers dry insects every few insects. - Feed the soil with fertilizer once a month during the growing season. - To ensure your plant thrives provide a warm and humid environment. But saying this, Nepenthes will usually adapt to average household humidity. - The ideal temperature should be between 16 - 24 degrees Celsius. Regularly misting this plant is recommended if it is in a particularly warm spot. - During the dormancy period (autumn/winter) you wont need to feed insects during this time but ensure the soil is kept slightly damp.
